Welcome Real Food Summit-ers!

If you’re here because you listened to my mom’s Real Food Summit talk, thanks for coming! Let me tell you a little about myself.

I’m Laura, and I’m currently a graduate student at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, pursuing a Masters in Public Health Nutrition (MPH-RD). I was essentially raised on a Weston A. Price diet, but fell into the pitfalls of the Standard American Diet while in high school and college. Constantly struggling with my dietary habits led me to ‘return to my roots’ and start following the principles of Dr. Price’s research. Eventually, I stumbled upon the Paleo/Primal way of eating, and after challenging myself to 30 days of primal eating, I haven’t looked back since! Now, once I complete my MPH-RD degree, I plan to use my knowledge of traditional and biologically appropriate diets to help others make healthy changes in their own lives.

I’ll be writing about essential components of ideal nutrition, nutrient dense foods and how to prepare them, product reviews, recipes, and current events in the world of Ancestral Health.

My mom will be sending a few more guest posts in the next couple weeks, so keep an eye on the blog for that. I hope you enjoyed her presentation, and now you know where I’ve come from in my nutritional upbringing!

First off, please allow me to comment on the photo above – really sweet. I remember my childhood days as well when my mom used to cuddle me like her favorite stuffed toy. Anyway for the top posts that you’ve shared, my favorite is the “The Role of Nutrition in Collagen Production”. I really read the entire article and I loved it! Please keep on sharing more posts similar to this. Thanks!
